The President’s Message
Esteemed Colleagues,
On behalf of the board of directors of the Iranian Society of Nephrology (IrSN), I deliver my warm welcome to the delegates of 12th National Congress of the Iranian Society of Nephrology (NIrSN 12th).
Over the past decades, the IrSN’s board of directors has been enduring in its commitment to the educational objectives of the Society. In addition to organizing bi-monthly scientific meetings and biennial international congresses, we have pursued our mission by convening the NIrSN every two years. These gatherings feature scientific lectures delivered by national and international experts across various fields of Nephrology, aligning with a unique Congress theme, which we choose for each congress. This theme reflects the most debated topics in Nephrology, aimed at enhancing the knowledge of nephrologists in Iran and the Persian-speaking countries of the region.
We actively encourage young nephrologists to present their latest research findings in the congress and recognize the outstanding presentations by awards. Furthermore, we support the participation of young nephrologists from our country and the region by offering complimentary participation to the congress.
Following each event, we compile a textbook based on the lectures, serving as a valuable resource for refreshing the knowledge of attendees and providing practical guidance in the specific areas covered by the Congress' theme.
This year, our congress will take place in the historic and beautiful city of Zanjan, with a well-established Medical University and a strong nephrology section. According to the theme of this year, i.e., Critical Care Nephrology, we are delighted to host a diverse group of adult and pediatric nephrologists, internists, intensivists and general practitioners, from Iran and abroad, both as speakers and delegates. Our aim is to create a pleasant environment for knowledge exchange and networking within this community.
On behalf of the IrSN’s board of directors, I extend my cordial invitation to all of you and express my gratitude to all outstanding Iranian and international guest speakers for their invaluable contributions to NIrSN 2024.
Warm regards and best wishes,
Shahrzad Ossareh- M.D.
President of the IrSN and 12th NIrSN
